Join us for the 34th Annual Forest Heritage Days, a beloved tradition that honors the Moosehead Lake Region’s forest legacy—and the people who shaped it. This year's celebration takes place Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, with events throughout Greenville, including the Greenville Consolidated School, the Lumbermen’s Museum, and Weyerhaeuser’s office on Pritham Avenue.

At the Moosehead Historical Society’s Lumbermen’s Museum (441):
Forest Heritage Days is proudly organized by the Moosehead Historical Society, in partnership with representatives from major landowners--AMC, Weyerhaeuser, and Tree-Star—along with a devoted group of passionate local citizens.
Together, we celebrate the enduring relationship between the people of the Moosehead region and the forests that have shaped our community, economy, and way of life.

Join us for the 34th Annual Forest Heritage Days, a beloved tradition that honors the Moosehead Lake Region’s forest legacy—and the people who shaped it. Friday, August 8
- 3:00 PM – Old-Fashioned Logging Demonstration
Witness a traditional lumberjack showcase by the renowned Colby Woodsmen, held on the lawn across from the Catholic Church at Greenville Consolidated School. - 7:00 PM – “The Last Log Drive on Moosehead Lake” Presentation
A captivating evening program reflecting on the final log drive that marked the end of an era in Maine's timber history. To be held at the Center for Moosehead History, 6 Lakeview Street, Greenville.
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Festivities at both 441 & 444 Pritham Avenue:
At the Moosehead Historical Society’s Lumbermen’s Museum (441):
- Open house of the expanded museum
- Free tours of the Eveleth-Crafts-Sheridan Historical House
- Forestry demonstrations and live exhibits
- Historical storytelling and family-friendly programming
- 125th Anniversary Celebration
- Open house with historical displays
- Free food and refreshments
- Insights into Weyerhaeuser’s legacy in the North Woods
